Printable Worksheet
Twelve problems to work by hand, from differentiating \(x(t)\) and \(y(t)\) to projectiles, path coordinates and a highway design. Print it, show your work in the space provided, then check your final answers here.
Curvilinear Motion · Worksheet
Show your work in the space provided. Unless a problem says otherwise, use \(g = 9.81\ \text{m/s}^2\), ignore air resistance, take \(x\) horizontal and \(y\) up, give answers to 4 significant figures with units, and give \(a_t\) a sign (negative when slowing down). You may use the Formula Sheet.
Answer sheet: final answers only.
How to use this worksheet
- Print it, or save it as a PDF. Each problem gets a dotted work space, and Problem 7 gets blank axes for a sketch. It fits on about five Letter or A4 pages.
- Work on paper. Part A is rectangular components and projectiles, Part B is path coordinates and curvature, and Part C connects the two and applies them. Each problem names the lesson to review if you get stuck.
- Check your final answers with Show answer under each problem, or show them all at once. Only final answers are given here.
Part A · Rectangular components and projectiles
Problems 1–6 · Basic to challenge · Lessons 2–4
Part B · Path coordinates and curvature
Problems 7–10 · Basic to intermediate · Lessons 5–7
Part C · Connecting the systems and applications
Problems 11–12 · Intermediate to challenge · Lessons 6–9
